At Noble Concepts, we believe every person deserves to be seen, heard, and supported in building a life that reflects who they are, not just what services are available.
My name is Sarita Ruiz, and my advocacy journey began with my brother, Jesse. He has intellectual and developmental disabilities, and over the years, I’ve walked beside him through a system that often felt confusing, overwhelming, and unjust. As his sister and advocate, I quickly learned how important it is for families to have support, knowledge, and a voice at the table — especially when the system doesn’t make it easy.
This personal journey led me to serve not just my own family, but others like ours. I spent years working in community advocacy, including serving as a Resource Coordinator for EAH Housing, where I supported individuals with disabilities and seniors living in affordable housing. That role expanded my understanding of the daily challenges families face and how critical access to information and services truly is.
In 2017, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Fresno State, with a focus on social systems, equity, and community well-being. It gave me the academic foundation for what I was already living out in my real life — helping others navigate systems that weren’t built with them in mind.
I later became a certified Independent Facilitator, completing trainings through Claudia’s Care (February 2024) and Guidelight (July 2024). Today, I work with families across California’s Central Valley, especially through CVRC, to help them create Person-Centered Plans, understand their Self-Determination budgets, and explore services that truly reflect their needs and goals.
I’m also proud to be part of the team led by Samantha Husman, a leader in the Independent Facilitator community. Working with Samantha has allowed me to deepen my skills and stay connected to a network of trusted, experienced advocates.
As a bilingual, first-generation Mexican American, I bring cultural sensitivity, lived experience, and compassion into every meeting. Whether you’re just starting your Self-Determination journey or looking for more support along the way, Noble Concepts is here to walk with you.
Because this isn’t just what I do, it’s who I am.
